NY TIMES on Engineering in Elementary Education

An interesting article on the pros and cons of incorporating engineering education in the elementary classroom.  Personally, I am in favor of such changes to the traditional elementary science curriculum.  However, I agree that, "giving children an engineering problem to solve doesn't guarantee learning," the lesson must be carefully crafted to ensure mastery of content as well as maximizing the broader lessons of creative and innovative thinking as well as collaboration and perseverance.
